Play it Safe by the Water - Safely Enjoy Victoria
The Play it Safe by the Water campaign encourages people to safely enjoy Victoria's pools, beaches, rivers and lakes.
With summer now here, Victorians are urged to take responsibility for their own safety to minimise incidents and injuries in and around water.
When enjoying our wonderful coastline, lakes, river systems, public and home swimming pools remember these key messages:
- ALWAYS watch them around water - ensure toddlers are always supervised when near water, in the home
- NEVER turn your back - Never take your eyes off toddlers and children at the pool, the beach or inland waterways
- NEVER swim alone - It is essential people never swim alone, at any time of the year
- LOOK before you leap - Always check its okay to swim before entering the water
Play it Safe by the Water - a joint initiative between the State Government, Life Saving Victoria, Aquatics and Recreation Victoria, Surfing Victoria, Swimming Victoria and Marine Safety Victoria.
